I've always been thinking that why its kinda messed up, for example, Khta's Community Manager, and she's ahead of Scott, can't this be organised by the rank you have?

The staff listing on the portal page is pre-generated, we don't have any control over the order in which it will display the staff.  It shows the staff in group order (Senior Staff, Global Moderators, Division Staff/Department Staff), it then displays each group block in alphabetical order, which is why Khta is shown ahead of Scott in the listings.

In the code I could probably remove all of it's automation and manually order the list, but then I'd have to do that each and everytime a member gets promoted/demoted, new staff member, staff member leaves, etc etc.

For the time being, I it's easier to leave it as it is.  I may look into it in the future.  The problem with ordering the list by ranks is that there isn't really anything for the system to sort it by, as the ranks themselves are technically just words, to the system they have no meaning.  The only thing I could potentially do is add in a few extra steps, make it look for the members rank, then compare the rank against a seniority key (which would be a number), then have it sort by the seniority key instead of the rank itself.  But I haven't even looked at the portals code so I couldn't tell you if that would even be possible without a complete re-write of how it works.
