So, like all other EE 24 Hour events, we were giving away PPs depending on the amount of time you spent at the 24 Hour event.

Everyone elses PPs and hours will be posted up here in due course.  This will happen this week, I just need to go through the TS logs to work out everyones hours.

April 2016 / 2016 Donation Drive
« on: February 14, 2016, 12:24:07 am »
The April 24 Hour Event here at EE always accompanies the closing of the year long donations.

EE doesn't have much in way of 'prizes' to offer those who donate, we're a non-profit community, this means even if we did take more than we needed for this year, we'd just roll it over to next years balance.

But, for those who do donate, we can offer a few perks.

This year though, I'm introducing some new 'perks?'.

These will be things I or the EE senior staff will do for certain donation milestones.

The milestones are this:
25% (£8.80)
50% (£17.64)
75% (£26.45)
100% (£35.27)

As we hit each milestone, the EE senior staff (those participating anyways), will perform or carry out whatever they have said they'll do for that milestone.  If we hit 100%, you'll see all four.  Please note, you don't have to donate £35.27 as an individual in one go to hit the 100% milestone (or any milestone), the milestones will be the full amount of all donations tallied together, so it could be 35.27 people (not sure how you'd get .27 of a person...) donating £1.00 each to reach the 100% milestone.

I will of course be participating, still not sure what I'll be doing for each milestone, so if you have any suggestions, please do post them below (Something not desirable, but nothing too bad or too embarrassing...if you actually want me or the others to do it).

I hope Scott & Khta will also be willing to participate.

Note, if these milestones aren't hit by the end of the 24 Hour event, the officers are not obligated to carry out the milestones.

On top of this, the normal donation perks will be available.
£5.00-£9.00:
Donator Channel On TS
EE Donators E-Mail Address
No Ads for 1 Calendar Year

£10.00 - £14.00:
Donators Pass to any EE Server

£15+:
Become Earth's Elite Partner (See http://earthelite.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,170.0.html for partner info).

Lastly, with any EE 24 Hour event, the extra perk of being able to give your superiors an order on donations over £5.00, will of course apply.

The EE 24 Hour event is on the 1st April 2016 starting at 7PM Community Time (British Summer Time, UTC +1 Hour).

If we hit any of the milestones before the 24 hour event, it will be up to the attending participating officers to decide whether they carry out their milestone 'celebration?'.

Assistant Directors Office / Virtual Airline
« on: February 04, 2016, 11:48:39 pm »
As of today I've assumed the Sub-director position within the FSX division.

Should another Officer want this position in the future, I may step aside.

My first act as sub-director, I'd like to setup a Virtual Airline.

I've spoken to James (Lumber) about this already, he's had quite a few good ideas for this.

So far we've got the following:

Name: Elite Air (Working Name, feel free to suggest others).

We'll have two hubs at the start, one US Hub, hopefully managed by Bofum, and an EU Hub in the UK, managed by myself.  Each hub will have a small fleet (at first).  In order to fly with the airline, you'll have to choose a hub and complete a checkride.  You'll start off in the smaller aircrafts, earning VA Points for each flight, as you progress through the VA, you'll be able to transition to larger aircraft.  Until you are 'qualified' to fly the large passenger jets, you'll only be permitted to act as a First Officer aboard them, so for the first few months you'll have to fly with either myself or Bofum, unless you fly the smaller aircrafts.

Now, 'Elite Air' can't afford many aircraft, so you'll have to book your aircraft in advance, if you want a recurring scheduled flight, we'll be able to set that up from your home hub, therefore that aircraft would be booked out for that flight automatically for you.  Certain aircrafts will be unavailable at times, this will be when they are out for scheduled maintenance checks.

Pilots will have to complete a checkride every 9 months, (or every time they change aircraft type rating (so if you go from a Cessna to a Learjet, etc), which ever comes first).

You'll be able to create your own flight plans, or use company flight plans (as they become available).  Hub airport information will be available from the EE website once the VA system is up and running (currently in development, scheduled release is with EE 2.1).

We'll hopefully have regular events where you'll be able to earn extra VA points to get a promotion, but logging flights on the VA system will earn you points.

In the event of an emergency, this should be reported via the VA system, if you crashed the aircraft, then the aircraft will be written off and removed from the available fleet.  If it was just an engine failure or something, then just report the issue and the aircraft will be sent to the maintenance crew, who'll have it back up and running in no time (note, the aircraft will be unavailable for a small time for maintenance).

So, this is just the initial idea of the VA, including some of my ideas and Lumbers.  Anything else, any comments etc, please, post them below.

April 2016 / #EE24H April 2016
« on: January 21, 2016, 04:04:26 pm »
I know this is a little early to post up the April 24 Hour Event info, but the earlier we start, the more time we have to plan the event and hopefully we can make the event much better than the previous years.

The 24 Hour event will happen in April, first couple of weeks preferably as it's meant to start the EE recruitment week and it's the last week of the 2016 EE Donation drive.

For those who are relatively new the community, EE's 24 Hour events are primarily to promote the community, they are live streamed by the Community Director (me), we do normally run paid advertisements on various sites, the goal during the April 24 Hour event is to promote the community and achieve the Donation goal for the given year.

You might be wondering why we try and achieve the donation goal so early on in the year, this is because payments for the EE services start middle of April, so the 24 hour events are, essentially, our last ditch attempt at getting the money raised, because anything not raised by the end of that event, I must try and find, just like last year, unfortunately, I do not have enough to front the £31.00 we still require (granted we are waiting on a payout from our ad networks, but even that's not going to cover the full amount).

During the 24 Hour events we offer extra special donator perks.  If you donate £5.00 or more, you can issue 1 order to a superior staff member of your choice.  These orders should be embarrassing, just like Novembers where Scott made me sing 'Silento's Watch Me' (hate that song, for the record).  If the superior of your choice declines the order, then EE refunds you your entire donation and the staff member declining the order, will reimburse EE, essentially, they pay you back for your donation (Maximum £5.00).

Usually myself and Scott will run/organise the event, this time around I'm changing that up a bit.  I tend to be the only member who stays for the full 24 Hours, I also tend to be the only one left for the final hours of the event (Big thanks to Canio for joining me for the last couple of hours of Novembers, almost fell asleep on stream that time).  This time around, I will run/organise the event myself, I will tailor it around being easier on those who stay for the full 24 hours.  Any EE Staff member attending, will of course still be expected to perform their duties in keeping the event moderated, though the EE 24 Hour events are PG-18 Explicit.

So, what different this time around?

I'm not saying this will become the norm for EE 24 Hour events, but we are going to be trialing it this time.

Each division of Earth's Elite will get a 1 hour time slot for events, these timeslots will be arranged with the respective division heads.  When it's time for another division's events to start, we'll switch to that game, or be prepared to switch to that game.  If those attending don't want to play the game and no one shows up for that divisions events, then after 15 minutes, the event can be cancelled, just like the standard EE events rule.  If someone does turn up for that event, within the 15 minutes, then we will switch to that game, regardless of if those attending want to play it or not, but the event will last for 1 hour, it can go on longer if those attending wish to keep playing, but after 1 hour, they are free to switch.

Each division will get to schedule 1 'showcase' event during the 24 hour event, meaning for 4 hours we'll play the divisions games (if we want to and/or if people turn up for it), for the remaining 20 hours, we'll be free to play whatever we want.  Just like the Solstice event we ran in December, a majority vote will be taken before switching games, so most people attending will want to play what we switch to.  Anyone is free to request a game change in the event.

The last 6 hours of the event are the hardest, therefore, those who have been attending for the longest, from this point on, will be granted a little extra power when it comes to deciding which games to play next, simply because at that point in the event you don't want to be stuck playing a game you don't want to play, even for an hour, that would likely be the end of the event for you.

Same promotion points system will be in place for those attending.

Every 1 Hour = 10 Promotion Points
First 6 consecutive Hours = X2 Multiplier
Second 6 Consecutive Hours = X3 Multiplier
Third 6 Consecutive Hours = X4 Multiplier
Fourth 6 Consecutive Hours = X5 Multiplier

If you last the full 24 hours we'll award you a special X12 Multiplier on top of the above multipliers, you could potentially receive 86,400 Promotion Points.  Senior Staff are eligible to receive these promotion points, but will have to give them away during the P&A ceremony in November.

To keep with tradition and to allow the donation drive to finish on time, this event must happen in the first or second week of April.  Last year we did the event on the 11th.  This year I propose a start of FRIDAY APRIL 1ST 2016 @ 7PM COMMUNITY TIME.

Post below if that's alright for you, if not please suggest a different date/time.

I'll be locking in a date/time on the 4th of February @ 23:59.  In 2 weeks time.

Community Events / Christmas 2015
« on: December 09, 2015, 11:54:49 pm »
Christmas is just around the corner now, Earth's Elite has a few special Christmas themed events planned, these will be confirmed BEFORE Friday as a reply to this topic.

As usual, EE will be partially closing for Christmas, now this doesn't mean our site will be down and no events will happen etc, it just means we're giving our staff just under a month off.  Therefore, you will likely see our weekly events cancelled, slower support responses etc.

From the 11th of December 2015 23:59 until 8th January 2016 00:01 EE will enter it's yearly hibernation.  During this time, if you have an urgent email, PM, bug report etc please indicate in the subject line of any email or PM '[URGENT]', otherwise it may take our staff a few days to reply to you.  When using the bug reporting tool on the MMS (http://earthelite.co.uk/mms/errors/report.php) put '[URGENT]' in the brief description line and select 'High' priority from the drop down.

You are still free to use the site, admins and moderators will still be about, but again, reports may take a little longer than usual for us to get to.  Expect almost no replies on Christmas Eve, Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve, & New Years Day.

The Christmas events will be hosted by myself and will be announced before Friday, all will be Christmas themed and they may very well be the last scheduled events for EE for 2015.

As usual, I will be hosting a Christmas Sing-A-Long on Venture Radio, all are welcome to come and sing, or just sing-a-long at home, I will confirm the date and time tomorrow.

If you have any questions regarding this, please post them below or contact a member of the senior staff.

Star Trek: Echoes / So...What's This SRP About?
« on: November 11, 2015, 07:54:20 pm »
The year is 2421, nine years before the formation of Echo Fleet (Earth’s Elite).

The United Federation of Planets has fallen, Starfleet has been infiltrated and corrupted.  Any officer of the previous Federation or Starfleet that will not toe the line, is sentenced to death by firing squad, any civilian who refuses to sign up to the fleet, receives the same punishment.

There are a few officers, true Federation Officers, left out there, they are Starfleets Most Wanted, they are considered criminals, any ‘Starfleet’ officer who sees them has orders to shoot on sight, and shoot to kill.  Any officer who brings them in, dead or alive, has been promised rewards.

These few officers left have one mission, a mission that will purge Starfleet of those who have corrupted it, and bring the Federation back to the alpha quadrant.  They have very few supporters, well, very few who will dare to do anythings, most are too scared to act out due the harsh punishments.

The USS Enterprise - E, a sovereign class vessel, long ago mothballed, is once again in active service, commanded by an Admiral presumed dead, Vice-Admiral Callum Jackson.

Vice-Admiral Jackson was ordered to hand over command of the Poseidon exactly one year ago, he was ordered to return to Earth, Poseidon continued on with it’s mission, whilst Vice-Admiral Jackson was arrested and charged for high treason against the Federation, well, not immediately, only after he questioned why the 14thfleet was being disbanded and why Poseidon was not going to be receiving any backup.

Jackson’s first mission, one that will help determine their success, rescue the crew of the USS Poseidon, who, 8 months ago, returned home from the Delta Quadrant, unaware they were wanted criminals now, they beamed down to Starfleet HQ when abandoning ship, only to be arrested seconds after materialising.

Vice-Admiral Jackson is accompanied by 83 other officers, together, with frequent help from those who were once enemies, they attempt to restore the Federation and Starfleet.

This group of officers are the last Echoes of the Federation, they and their allies are known to Starfleet as....Echo Fleet!

This is the story so far, what happens next is unknown.  But one thing we do know for sure, we cannot restore the Federation alone, will you dare to step up, be a hero, and save your people?
