Autumn 2015 / Highlight THAT!!!
« on: November 09, 2015, 11:59:13 pm »
I have exactly 24 Hours 14 Minutes and 43 Seconds of footage from the 24 Hour event to sift through.  I'm sure there are a number of highlights that are worthy of being put into the Autumn 24 Hour Highlights video, but I can't find them alone.

If you know of anything you think should be highlighted from the event, please post the time index below.  If you are going by the 4 highlights here - http://www.twitch.tv/callum603/profile/highlights then please state which part and what time index of that part of the event you want highlighting (it would have been in one long part if my internet hadn't dropped out half way through and if I hadn't had 2 other random disconnects from Twitch).

It may take a couple of weeks for the highlight video to be edited together, I will be creating 2 versions, one will be a family friendly highly censored version, the other will have be un-censored for those over the age of 18 and/or have/had parental permission to attend the 24 Hour Event.

Of course, it goes without saying Scott's rendition of 'I'm a Barbie Girl' and Khta's rendition of 'Monty Python's Penis Song' will be in the highlight video......Huh?...My Order?...What about it?......suppose my rendition of 'Watch Me' will be in there too..... :-\

I'm hoping we can create another video from the highlights video, that can be used a video showcase of what EE has to offer.

Community Announcements / Staff Pay Rate
« on: November 01, 2015, 01:10:22 am »
It's just occurred to me, I never actually announced this properly after the Senior Staff discussed this.

Effective from November 1st 2015, active staff members of Earth's Elite will earn Promotion Points each month, to qualify you must be ACTIVE.  Your activity will be judged by the Community Manager during the monthly reviews (or by myself during the 6-monthly reviews).  The pay rate is as follows:

Directors - 800 Promotion Points/Month
Sub-Directors - 600 Promotion Points/Month
Moderators/Event Managers - 400 Promotion Points/Month
Any other staff members are on a voluntary basis, so earn nothing, but a higher chance of getting an official position within EE.

The Senior Staff do not earn Promotion Points each month, as there is nothing we need them for.

Promotions Points can be used to purchase community perks/items, or can be saved up for an instant promotion.

This was announced in the meeting minutes, but a proper thread for it was never posted up.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Earth's Elite Chief Executive Officer's Office / A Few Changes
« on: October 09, 2015, 12:02:42 am »
Hi,

Some of you may already be aware that for the last year or so I've been looking for a job, finally I've found one.

For the next few weeks any events that I had arranged are being cancelled (The October 30th event will still go ahead, I will try my hardest to be there, but the event will officially end at midnight instead of 2AM as I had planned).

Currently, I don't know what my days are for working, I started on Tuesday, so I've already worked 3 days, I have tomorrow (Friday 09th Oct.) off, but after this weekend I don't know what I'll be working.

For that reason I'm unable to rearrange my events, until I know when I can do them.

My Monday Venture Radio show is on hiatus, it will return, but it might not be on a Monday and it will very likely stay as a fortnightly show.  I should know or at least be able to give and educated guess, as to what the dates etc of my events will change to by the end of Sunday.

The Senior Staff meeting that was supposed to happen on Wednesday at 4PM had to be cancelled as I was unavailable (it being the last one of 2015, I wanted all senior staff there), so if there was something you wanted to submit for the meeting that you need/want us to discuss, there's still a chance to get it into the meeting, just message one of the senior staff members.  The meeting will be rearranged after Sunday.

With me now working, that does mean I'll have less time to come on here, but at present I feel I'll still be able to dedicate enough time to the community to stay as Community Director, if that changes, I will of course step aside, even if just temporarily.  Once I get myself into a routine, we should be good.  On my days off work, I should have more time to dedicated to EE as well, as I wont be having to fulfill the 'Job Seekers Claimant Commitment', meaning I no longer have to sit down at my PC and job search for 35 hours a week.

Whatever happens, I don't foresee any changes that will occur to the November 24 Hour Event, even if I have to come straight from working an 8 hour day to do the 24 hour event, I will.

@Khta & Scott, Now that I'm actually earning money, expect at least two donations to EE during the 24 Hour event, with your orders ;)

In summary, I'm gonna be all over the place for the next few weeks as I try and sort everything out IRL.  I found out Monday evening that I started the next day at 10AM, so I didn't really have much time to plan any of this, lol (although, I suppose you could argue I had the year and a bit that I was looking to plan for when it actually happened...).

Next Week the Senior Staff will be having their final meeting of 2015, unless anything drastic happens between now and January 2016.

As this will be our last time officially getting together to discuss EE, if you have anything you need/want us to discuss during our meeting, you MUST submit it to either myself, Scott, or Khta, before Noon Community Time, Wednesday the 7th of October 2015.  Anything submitted after this time may end up not being included until the new year.

Please note, a full staff meeting is supposed to happen as well, however, during a previous senior staff meeting it was decided that due to some staff members never turning up to these (or letting us know they can't attend), that they were obviously not required, therefore, full staff reviews etc will be done by the senior staff during the meeting on Wednesday, if you are an EE staff member you will receive a PM after the meeting if there is anything we need to tell you.

As normal, after the meeting a debrief will be posted up.

Earth's Elite Presents - The Prequel, for one final time.

A 10 Episode Season, following the crew of the USS Poseidon, on their journey, to the delta quadrant.

Season 2 left us with Admiral Jackson being transferred off of the Poseidon, for some classified reason.  The most senior officer aboard the Poseidon, Captain Archer, was promoted to CO and ordered to continue the mission as planned.

Things aren't what they should be anymore back on Earth.  How will the events on Earth affect the crew over 70000 light years away.

Join us, for one final season every Friday at 8PM, starting August 7th 2015.

Community Events / Organising An Event
« on: June 09, 2015, 11:33:11 pm »
Want to organise an event in EE but don't know where to start? Then this topic is for you.

This has never really been made that clear, I'm always going on about how I want members to create events for any and all games out there, but I've never said how you create these events, you've probably already tried to post an event to the calendar and found it doesn't let you...

First thing you'll need to do, is come up with the event (probably obvious, just thought I'd mention it, just in case).

Now you have the event idea, all you need to do now is get it on the calendar.  To do this, you'll need to contact a member of staff, for now, contact anyone on the senior staff (feel free to PM it to me, there should be link to PM me on the left somewhere).  The info we'll need from you is this, Date/Time of event (must be at least 24 hours in the future), Game(s) you wish to play, where to meet (in game, on TS, etc), little bit of info about the event if necessary.  We'll then post this up on the calendar for you.  Best bet is to get your events in before 6PM (Community Time) on a Sunday, that way your event will be announced in the weekly email (note, if you PM a staff member at 17:59 on a Sunday, don't expect it to be in the weekly email, you'll need to give us time to actually read the PM and type it up).

If the event you wish to organise will be for one of EE's division, please contact the relevant divisions events manager to organise your event (or director/sub-director).

We permit any and all games as events, if you think enough members will turn up to play the game, we don't mind you organising an event.  If the game is rated higher than PG-12, please inform us in your PM, we do permit such games, but must state that the PG rating is higher.  If during you're event someone 'underage', who doesn't hold PG access, attends, please inform a staff member.

If you're reading this and wondering how you go about getting PG access, please contact me directly on callumjackson[at]earthelite[dot]co[dot]uk.  We'll then go about getting you set up to attend higher rated events, note, a parent/guardian must give consent in order for you to receive your access.

Community Announcements / Staff Vacancies! (And Roster)
« on: June 09, 2015, 11:07:31 pm »
Please note, this thread will be replaced with a section on the EE website that will list all EE staff.  For the time being, this thread serves as a temporary listing!

A thread listing the staff vacancies might be a good idea, just realised we didn't really have anything like this, so, see below.

If you're interested in a position, contact the relevant division/department director or email applications[at]earthelite.co.uk (in the correct format of course).  All Position but those marked with an asterisk (*) require you to hold an Officer's Membership in order to be eligable to apply for them.

I'll try and keep this updated.

Community Announcements / Supported Games
« on: April 29, 2015, 01:19:14 am »
In this topic I will explain a little bit about what EE supports in terms of games and what we mean by supported games.

I'll start with the latter.

Supported games are simply games that we either have a server for and/or have created a clan/guild/fleet/etc in.  For these games we will create a division, in this division we will have 4 staff members and, hopefully, a bunch of members.  The 4 staff members jobs are to ensure there are events running on this server or in the clan/guild/fleet, provide advice, help and support etc to the members who play the game.  When we create a division for a specific game and staff members are appointed, these staff members are given a specific set of requirements, these are simply put in place to try and ensure you guys, as members, have the best possible time here at EE.  One of the biggest requirements we have is that each division should aim for 4 events a month.  This means, the division should should create and attend 4 events for their specific division game(s).

So, put simply, supported games means we either have our own server for the game or we have a clan/guild/fleet/whatever in the game.

Some less popular 'Supported Games' might not be a full division, but there is a list of these games in the 'Random Game Night' thread.  Events for these games are held at random.  Remember, you as a member can host events yourself, contact the Chief of Ops now to setup your own events.

Okay, what games do we support?

Earth's Elite currently supports the following games (note, games marked with an asterisk * are games we have created a division for, so have regular events)
  • *Ace of Spades
  • *RPG-X
  • *Holomatch
  • *STO (Star Trek Online)
  • *Microsoft's Flight Simulator X
  • *Garry's Mod
  • Unturned
  • World of Tanks
  • World of Warships
  • War Thunder
  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon - Phantoms
  • Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies
  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • SpinTires
  • Euro Truck Simulator 2
  • Space Engineers

Nice list of games you have there, but I want to play {insert game name here}, how can I go about getting that added as a 'Supported Game'?

Glad you asked, this is a very simple process.  Simply email the senior staff and make your request.  You can email them using this form - http://www.earthelite.co.uk/contact.php.

In your request, name the game, where you can get it, whether you'd like us to create a server, clan, guild, fleet, whatever....  Give us a little description about the game, why you think we should support it (why we should potentially use up resources on our servers to host this server, if applicable) and anything else you think we should know about this game that might persuade us to take it on as a supported game.

The senior staff will get back to you within 24 hours of your message with a yes or no to your request (we'll likely say yes, unless our servers are full, in which case we might have to have a meeting with you about what you'd like us to do).

If the game proves to be popular, it may be taken on as an officially supported game, AKA, one that we create a division for.

If you have any questions regarding Earth's Elite and/or the games we support, drop me a PM or an email.
