I thought STO had a 3 mo grace period...
At any rate, I wrote a review on my division! (Had some improvements to be made!)

Board Archive / STO R&D week-end bonus
« on: November 15, 2014, 12:24:11 am »
Since peeps don't get on the game often, I thought I would give a heads up now and then when STO announces a special week-end event. One is coming up tomorrow- Nov 12??? what day is it? I have no idea- semi-retired is tough sometimes!

Here is the info:

Captains! Get ready for the Research and Development Weekend!

Research and Development Weekend will run from November 13th at about 10AM PDT, until November 17th at about 10AM PDT, and features several bonuses throughout STO that will give Captains of all levels a leg up advancing their rank in the Research and Development school(s) of their choice.

For those Captains looking specifically for extra help with their projects, all R&D packs throughout the game will give out an extra 25% of the items they currently disperse for the duration of this event. Queue R&D Material Reward Packages (Normal, Advanced and Elite) will reward 25% more R&D Materials and have a chance to reward a Catalyst.

Alternatively, Captains wanting to advance through Research and Development schools as fast as possible should seek out Harvest Nodes, located in mission maps throughout STO, which will not only disperse 2 extra R&D Materials each time they are used, but will also reward 10 Dilithium Ore and have a chance to give out a R&D Catalyst during this event.

For all Captains that work on a Research and Development project during this weekend event, those projects will reward an extra 50% of the appropriate Research and Development School XP. This includes projects to make components as well as those to make items.

We hope you are enjoying the new Research and Development system and look forward to playing alongside you while gathering resources!

I haven't played it yet but the description sounds the same as the one last Feb.
No transports, just a star base with portals that need closing (science ships complete that fastest. Takes about 15 mins to complete

Board Archive / New STO event, big rewards!
« on: October 30, 2014, 01:34:29 am »
Arg has just announced a new Mirror Invasion Event to begin Oct 30th and end Nov 20th. The rewards are great and would help the Fleet immensely, please consider trying to fulfill the event within the time frame! here is a basic spec for rewards quoted from the Arc site:

Once a day, players will be awarded a Multidimensional Transporter for playing this event. By turning in 14 Transporters through the Reputation System, players will receive 50,000 Dilithium Ore, 500 Fleet Marks, 250 Marks of Your Choice and a brand new unique weapon: the Zefram Cochrane Shotgun! Each additional Multidimensional Transporter can be traded in for an additional 50 Fleet Marks, 2000 Dilithium Ore, and 35 Marks of Your Choice (Fleet, Romulan, Nukara, Omega, Dyson, Undine & Delta) through a secondary Event Reputation Project that will become available after the main Project is completed.

The Mirror Invasion is a 5-captain, cross-faction queue for level 50-60 players with Normal and Advanced Queues.

We hope you enjoy this event and look forward to seeing you take on the Terran Empire. See you in-game!

Division Announcements / Odds and Ends...

I thought I'd post a general message here concerning a few thoughts on STO:

For those of you who use the Fleet Bank, I am currently selling off some items in order to deposit Fleet credits which I believe will be available for our members to use. As far as I can tell, depositing items gives you fleet credit, which you can use as a kind of exchange when there are other items in the bank you need. You also may be able to 'borrow' energy credits to buy items on the exchange. If there are ever items you would like, please send me an email. I pick up so much stuff I can put in the bank...

Please take a look at the Fleet tab beneath the minimap in game. Our holdings go through various stages of needing certain things. We like to fill those which are nearest to completion. I think having the mind that you would donate a percentage of your 'earnings' every time you play is a good concept. There are perks to having Fleet holdings only available to fleets.

You can play PvE missions for Fleet credit, dilithium, and various other credits at just about any level. These last anywhere from 5-15 minutes by and large.

Eventually, when our Fleet is a high enough level, there may be missions we will need to do together such as protecting our star base from Klingon attacks... I hope by then we will have a few more members. I will set those up in our events calendar when we get there.

Every time you play, please pick up common duty officers. These are assignments that can be picked up a number of places, such as Starfleet and the Spire. There are 4 places alone in Starfleet which allow you to get duty officers: A Vulcan, a Tellarite, an Andorian and a Starfleet officer are who have them. (forgive my misspellings...) look for the icons with people in them...

I am considering having a best screen shot contest! Anyone interested??

Sounds like an exciting new development. I am curious to hear what the content will be!

Division Announcements / Fleet Starbase Transwarp Conduit is up!!!
« on: April 25, 2014, 06:44:20 am »
We did it!!!
Check it out! It works differently from other transwarps: it returns you to where you were prior once you depart the Spacedock! IOW, less flying time!

27
As much as I like the Lcars, I think it would be best to go straight to the homepage.

28
I got your in game note about the spire xp, did you get my reply?

29
Here are some helpful directions:

The Spire can be reached by first going to Tau Dewa, Azure Sector. Once there, use the transwarp conduit to go to the Dyson Sphere. When you are in the Sphere, travel to the northernmost border. That will bring up the tower window that asks if you would like to go to the fleet spire.

The Dilithium Mine is in the Beta Ursae, Bajor sector, SW of Deep space 9. It shows up on the map list...

The Embassy is also located in Tau Dewa, Nimbus sector. Go to New Romulus. Once you get to New Romulus you will have the option to visit the Embassy or go to New Romulus- take the Embassy of course!

The Star Base is in Eta Eridani, Aldebaren sector. Located in the southernmost area...

Once we reach a high enough Tier, we can get Transwarp abilities to get quickly to any of these locations quickly-and freely.

Director's Office / Welcome!
« on: April 02, 2014, 08:42:34 pm »
I grew up on Star Trek (yes, that old! but still totally hip!) and recently became addicted to playing STO. A WoW convert actually...

When I first came on, and was invited to a Fleet, I had no idea what a Fleet would do for me, but, I am a team player and I liked the mission statement here, so I joined.

Star Trek Online is built to be able to play solo- without the need for groups. (A nice change from World of Warcraft, which gave unfair advantage to groups.) There are benefits to being in a group here as well. For one, it is fun to run around with others and play! But beyond that, the Fleet is able, by building up its status, to offer better discounts, more ships, and personal equipment that may not be available in game. Unless of course you just spend you hard earned dollars buying Zen bucks! Even then, there are some things only available to Fleets.

I would love to invite every new Fleet member to join me, write me, ask me for help...whatever you need, I am here to answer questions or help you level up!

Make it So!
