UPDATE - Updating Deprecated Code.

{EE} Khta:
As I have not yet had to do a member logon, will that be found on the fleet server? or can I do that from my usual server site while in game??

Khta

{EE} Callum Jackson:
The member logon shouldn't affect any servers or games.

This update is only for the main website (http://www.earthelite.co.uk).

What I am planning on doing is listing members important info on the homepage, so your ID, rank, superior, divisions, roll call status etc etc.  When accessing the site you will be given the choice to login or view as guest, viewing as guest will only show a message asking you to join, logging in will then reveal your information.  This login I'm hoping I will be able to link with the forums, so if you sign in on the forums, you'll be signed in on the main site and vice versa.  That's the difficult part, everything else only takes time because I'm updating so many pages.

I'll try and get a few example pages setup for members to see so you can see what I'm trying to do with the site.

{EE} Callum Jackson:
I've jumped ahead of myself a little, I'm still actually updating the code on most pages, but I decided to test the Single Sign On on an updated page.

The result is a partial success, but at the same time a partial fail.  I can confirm the single sign on will work as I was able to login, however, it decided to redirect me away from the main site and directed me to the forums.

I will be working on this now, so that once pages have been updated and are ready, I can simply put in the sign on script and the pages is ready.

EDIT:

The inbuilt Single Sign On is quite cool, you can add all the normal features the forums has, like the who's online feature.

The above image is currently pulling from a local copy of an outdated version of our forums, which is why it only shows one guest online, which is currently myself.
